News (Nov 2011)
Breast Cancer Week
October 2011 was Breast Cancer Awareness month. On the 27th to 29th of October we held a 'wear it pink to work', with our dentists and nurses wearing pink gloves and our reception staff in pink shirts.
We were also selling home-made cakes and plants to our patients with all the funds raised going to Breast Cancer Care.
We raised a total of £159.06 so many thanks to our patients for their support, our staff for spending a day baking and a big thanks to Cooling's Garden Centre in Rushmore Hill for donating the plants for the sale.
Florida Probe helps tackle gum disease
We have a new piece of computerized kit called a Florida Probe. This allows us to quickly and accurately measure any gum detachment, allowing us to focus treatment and cleaning at significant disease sites. We then periodically re-measure the gums to see if the treatments are working, allowing us to respond with more or less treatment.
This means you get very personalised and effective treatment.
New Arrival
We are pleased to announce that one of our full-time nurses, Emma has given birth to a baby girl on Saturday 5th November 2011. She has been named Isabelle and came into the world weighing 7lb 14oz. Big congratulations from all of us!
