I’d like to reassure you of all the things that the Practice has undertaken to help protect our patients from the risk of Covid-19.
A medical triage questionnaire is sent out with all our appointment reminder emails. This is to help prevent Coronavirus from being spread by infected patients who may not have symptoms.
Patients and staff are requested to use the disinfectant hand gel as they enter through the front door. This is because the evidence shows that the gel kills the virus.
The temperatures of all patients and staff are taken on arrival using a touch free digital thermometer. This is to alert the reception team if a person has a raised temperature which could indicate infection, and they will not be permitted to enter the surgery.
The clinical teams wear enhanced PPE for all aerosol producing treatments which is disposed of between every patient.
Viral-killer air purifiers have been installed in all the surgeries. These change the surgery air twelve times an hour.
Ultra-sonic foggers are used to superclean the surgeries after treatments
Masks are requested to be worn
Reception & waiting room screens are in place to help with social distancing
The Royal College of Surgeons has recommended the Hygienists and Therapists use High Volume suction. To implement this has required the Practice to employ two new full time dental assistants Tegan and Alice.
I also want to take this opportunity to reassure all our Denplan and Payment plan patients that they will receive their quota of visits and if needed these can be carried over to next year.
I have installed a Patient ‘Happyornot’ Feedback device. I am very pleased that people are using it and we have had excellent reports. Your feedback is very important to us, so please do talk to a member of the team or contact us if you have suggestions for how we can improve.
