We believe in transparency and value. Our new patient appointments are designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of your oral health, with no pressure, and plenty of time to ask questions.

Our adult new patient exam is £100 and includes a FREE Hygiene SPA experience worth £115

Your first appointment includes:

  • Screening radiographs: This allow us to reveal any hidden dental problems, review past dental work and forms a foundation for your treatment plan.
  • OPG radiograph (if clinically required): This gives us a panoramic view, and offers more diagnostic value for problem areas.
  • Itero digital scan: A non-invasive, radiation-free way to capture a highly detailed 3D image of your teeth, gums, and bite. We use this as part of a comprehensive initial assessment, especially when planning cosmetic, restorative, or orthodontic treatments.
  • Oral cancer screening: This is a non-invasive, quick, and painless process, typically taking just a few minutes.
  • Periodontal health screening: Assesses the health of the gums and supporting structures of the teeth.

“The team here are incredibly helpful and kind. From the receptionist who always greets you with a smile and a chat to the dentists. I always feel cared for” (August 2025)

I was running late for my appointment due to train cancellation, phoned ahead to let reception know and my lateness was accommodated. I was met with smiles from the whole team and was treated with courtesy throughout my appointment.

Mr Hampton is always professional and cleans my teeth excellently, offering advice on the problems I am having with arthritis. I feel that he cares for my implants particularly well.

30th March 2026

Everything mentioned in the survey was great, but I felt weirded out afterwards about signing forms consenting to have my pictures used on social media. It happened so fast that I neglected to ask what happens if I don't consent, and I neglected to get printed copies of the documents I signed. I don't object to my pictures being used for clinical or research purposes but I don't want them on social media. If I could revoke my consent I would.

Rory clearly explained everything to me and did his best to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

What treatments do dental hygienists give?

Dental hygienists provide a range of preventive and therapeutic dental and oral health treatments. As well as deep dental cleans, they may also carry out oral cancer screenings, sealant application and X-rays. They also provide personalised advice on oral and dental hygiene to match the patient’s particular needs, as well as advice on oral hygiene practices and recommendations on brushing techniques, flossing and other cleaning methods.

Service list

  • Dental Cleanings: Scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar, which helps prevent gum disease and cavities.
  • Airflow EMS therapy: A hygiene treatment that removes persistent stains on your teeth, plaque and discolouration using a combination of water, compressed air and fine powder particles.
  • Gum disease treatment: Providing treatment and advice for gum problems, including gingivitis and periodontitis.
  • Fluoride treatments: Applying fluoride to strengthen tooth enamel and prevent tooth decay.
  • Dental sealants: Applying dental sealants to protect the chewing surfaces of molars from decay.
  • Screening for Oral Cancer: Conducting examinations to identify potential signs of oral cancer and referring patients for further evaluation if necessary.

Do dental hygienists work with dentists?

Your dentist and dental hygienist work in collaboration as part of the dental healthcare team. While your hygienists can perform a number of dental and oral procedures independently, they work closely with dentists to provide comprehensive dental care to patients. Dental hygienists specialise in preventive care, helping to reduce the need for further dental treatment.

How often should you see a dental hygienist?

For most people, a visit to the dental hygienist to help ensure fresh breath from routine cleaning once every six months is advised. Some people with more specific or complex oral and dental care needs may require more frequent visits for a hygienist deep clean and other treatments.

When you visit the dentist for the first time as a new patient they will draw up a treatment plan that advises on the recommended frequency of hygienist visits.

Comprehensive dental care from H Williams

At H Williams, our dental hygienists work with the rest of the dental team to provide our clients with comprehensive dental care. Regular visits to the dental hygienist can lead to improved dental and oral health, the early detection of dental issues and an improved smile.

Our dental team makes sure you feel calm, comfortable and clear about your treatment plan, every step of the way. You’ll experience outstanding customer care and great-looking, healthy teeth you’ll want to show off!
